CoSA Partners with National Archives Foundation on America’s 100 Docs Initiative

CoSA is partnering with the National Archives Foundation and history, civics, and education organizations across the country for a one-of-a-kind online history game – America's 100 Docs. Launching today, this is the first nationwide opportunity for all Americans to get involved in celebrating the nation’s 250th anniversary in 2026. America’s 100 Docs invites all citizens – patriots, history buffs, students, gamers, sports enthusiasts, and everyone in between – to take 100 of the country’s most historically significant records and vote for their top picks. Players’ votes will help determine the top 16 documents that make it to a final voting challenge in early 2026, when only ONE will be voted as America’s most significant document.

America is a nation with many stories. And with the 250th anniversary of the country coming up in 2026, now is the moment for us to engage with those stories – and have a little fun along the way. “We encourage CoSA members to consider ways that they can engage their users with this game (or design their own versions) by highlighting consequential records in your own collections,” says CoSA Executive Director Joy Banks.

When promoting the national competition, please use the following hashtags in your social media: #100Docs #USat250 #OneNationManyStories #AmericanHistory
